The BTech placement percentage of 81% was the highest among all the courses during IIT Guwahati placements 2026. The disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering Mathematics and Computing and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence recorded the highest placement percentages of 87-91% among all the undergraduate programmes.

According to the IIT Guwahati placement report 2026, the overall placement percentage for the year 2026 was 63%. The BTech placement rate of 81% was the highest among all the courses.

The average package given during IIT Guwahati placements 2026 is not released yet. However, the median package recorded was INR 20 LPA. Further, the average package reached INR 25.21 L during BTech placements 2025.

IIT Guwahati was ranked #8 in the Engineering category in the NIRF rankings 2025. Considering the last two yeas' rank, its ranking dropped by 1 rank as compared to 2024 and 2023 rank of #7. The NIRF 2026 rankings are expected to be out soon.

According to the IIT Guwahati CSE 2026 cutoff for the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 810 to 822. So, students with a rank below those mentioned here would have a better chance of admission. See the list below to know the overall cutoff for different All India categories.

IIT Guwahati cutoff 2026 for the SC AI category ranged from 676 in the first round to 2187 in the last round. As per this range, MSc in Mathematics and Computing was the most competitive course for admission, with the highest acceptable cutoff of 676.
