Indian institute of technology Guwahati.
Placements: My university imparted crucial job- hunting skills and facilitated networking avenues with prospective employers. Previous graduates secured positions at renowned companies like Adobe, Amazon, Bank of American, Deloitte, Ericsson, Facebook, Infosys, Xerox Research, Microsoft, Oracle, Samsung, and PWC. Our institution boasted exceptional Infrastructure tailored to support all aspects of the placement procedure. The career center plays a pivotal role in coordinating pre- placement Talks, Written tests, Group Discussion, interviews, and more, .
Infrastructure: The room offers both LAN and Wi-Fi connections. The mess generally provides high-quality meals, Particularly at breakfast and dinner suitable for everyone, although occasionally launch may not meet expectation. Overall, I rare the mess 3.5 out of 5, with nutritious food. The hostel is registration process is straightforward, following online admission, and residents can select rooms based on thair preference. The hostel is reasonably priced at INR 52,000 par year, and I currently reside there.
Faculty: I studied mathematics and computing at IIT Guwahati, where the faculty is outstanding and provides continuous support. There's a significant presence of helpful Ph.D. students. Professors actively encourage students to pursue their interests within the subject and offer engaging research projects. Classes typically consist of around 66 students, and the annual course fee is INR 65,000.

M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2023

5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
The campus is unbelievable and amazing.
Placements: Due to a recurrence in the IT sector, placements were low compared to other batches before 2023. Companies such as Texas Instruments, Hughes Software, and then public sector companies like C-Dot, BHEL, etc., visit our campus for placements. Only a few were placed in the year of my last year. Packages like 10 LPA to 15 LPA were offered by the companies to those students. For M.Tech, they provide internships, which mostly involve B.Tech students in their lab assignments and evaluation programming assignments.
Infrastructure: The college is in the northeast, and the connectivity to the rest of India is less. So, there were fewer female students on campus. Hostels were good. Each student is given an individual room with furniture. Each hostel has a mess, a canteen, and a TV room. The food is fairly good. It takes some time to adapt to the food provided by them for other state students.
Faculty: The M.Tech program has had three semesters. While the first semester had only subjects, students must now focus on their thesis/project work beginning in the second semester. The institute stitched the first semester course that it is helpful during project work in the next semester. Exam patterns vary from written tests to assignments and open-book exams. The pattern is chosen by subject professors. Assignments too weigh some part of the student's evaluation.
Other: I chose this course because I had done B.Tech in CSE, so I wanted to continue studying in the same sector.

It's absolutely good, environment is good and ofcourse the most beautiful campus.
Placements: In my branch, 50% have been placed till phase 1 for the 2024 batch. Overall, placement is not good for this batch, mainly due to the recession and some politics carried out by the placement coordinators who are from the 4th year. They favor their own friends for interviews and provide assistance to them during tests.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really good; at most places, you will get Wi-Fi. The library is also excellent. It's very comfortable reading in the library. The classroom is good, facilities are good—everything is good. In the hostel, you will get sufficient washing machines and a water cooler on each floor.
Faculty: Faculty in my department is good; they are supportive. Most of them give good grades compared to professors in other departments. Many of us from our branch pursue roles like software or non-teaching roles. Being in this branch gives them sufficient time to prepare as the courses are not so hectic. Semester exams are easy; almost everyone passes, but exceptions are everywhere.
Other: This course is really beneficial. You can achieve a good CPI when you are in this branch. If you are in a branch other than CSE/MNC/EEE/ECE, then most probably you will be preparing for a non-core role. However, when your branch is CST, you will get enough time for your preparation.

Excellent college with top-tier facilities.
Placements: In our institute, placements were held in December. Within two days, more than 300 offers were received from big companies, including JPMC, Google, IBM, and Oracle, among others. The institute also received a total of 20 international offers from companies such as Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Japan, etc. The jobs were being offered in diverse profiles, such as IT/software, analyst, finance, design, and management. The average CTC offered was around 17 LPA.
Infrastructure: The campus of IIT is great. IIT Guwahati is blessed with the most beautiful campus in our country. IIT Guwahati is among the most beautiful IIT campuses in India. Wi-Fi facilities are available in the college 24 hours a day, and canteens are also available with acceptable rates and quality of food. And about hostels, whenever we get admitted to IIT and go for your registration in college, you're allotted a hostel that costs you around 18000/- a month, which is quite affordable and offers a great campus life.
Faculty: We have the most experienced and qualified faculty members in the college. Faculty members have a very good nature and behavior among the students. Most of the faculty members are qualified as IItians, or most of them are qualified from other countries. Some of the faculty members also have their own active projects. There are a lot of things to learn from our faculty members. The course curriculum is in biological technology. Semester exams are difficult, and about 95% of students get passed in our college.
Other: I chose this course just because my interest lies in biology, and I was very keen to explore this field, so I applied for it.

Good college, placement and campus life but needs improvement in the course.
Placements: My course is chemical science and technology and the placements are good in this because, continuously in the previous two years, people got over 1 crore packages and, on average, 20 lakh. Maybe you won't be able to find much about this and it's placements on Google, but believe me, it is a good course if you pay attention to it.
Infrastructure: Hostels are too good, but due to the pandemic, one of the hostels was damaged and now we had to share 1 room with two people. They have separate beds but a common wardrobe and table. And the course is a little hectic. You need to properly attend all the classes, tutorials, labs, etc. Be an above-average student. And it will easily take your whole day.
Faculty: Some faculty members are too good and some are just too bad at teaching. Also, the exams and curriculum are too, since they completed almost 3 months of courses in just 1 month. But since the marking is relatively high, the passing percentage is high. But in some courses, the marking is absolute as well. It depends on professor to professor.
