According to media sources, 147 candidates were placed during IIT Patna's Phase 1 placements 2023-24. Furthermore, 32 students received job offers with salaries exceeding INR 30 LPA during IIT Patna placements in 2024. The average package offered for IIT Patna placements in 2024 was INR 22.23 LPA. In addition, the average package offered for IIT Patna BTech CSE placements in 2024 was INR 27.60 LPA. The engineering, technology, and science departments at India's IITs are well-known for their undergraduate, postgradutae, and doctrate programs. The BBA program is not currently offered by IIT Patna.
IITs don't often offer traditional management or business administration degrees because their proimary concentration is on technical research and education. A few IIT s have begun to provide postgraduater management degree, such MBA programs, through their Departments of Management Studies or Schools of Management.

The IIT Patna MSc cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1, wherein the most competitive specialisation is M.Sc. in Mathematics with a closing rank of 515 for the General AII India category students. The least competitive course is M.Sc. in Physics with a cutoff rank of 556. So, candidates seeking admission to any of the MSc courses must secure a rank up to 556 to be eligible for IIT Patna.
IIT Patna admission to the MSc course is based on IIT JAM scores, followed by the IIT JAM counselling process. Only candidates on the JAM 2024 merit list based on JAM 2024 scorecard will be eligible to apply for admission.

IIT Patna is a very prestigious engineering institute in the country. It has been acknowledged as a Nationally Significant Institute. Numerous national and international rating organisations have assigned IIT Patna a ranking. IIT Patna is placed in the Asian University and Southern Asian University categories at 401–450 and 106, respectively, in the QS World University Rankings 2023. According to NIRF 2023, IIT Patna is rated 41st in the Engineering category and 66th in the Overall category. One of the more recent IITs to be founded in 2008 is IIT Patna.

IIT Patna accepts multiple state/national entrance exams other than JEE advance for admission to BSc courses. NEET, CUET, BITSAT, etc., are other exams accepted by the institute. However, candidates must make sure to first qualify for the BSc eligibility criteria. Qualified candidates just need to apply via the official website of IIT Patna.
