If you want to get admission in good IITs and NITs , you will have to score nearly 300 marks in JEE Mains exam. Then, you have to appear for JEE Advanced exam. If you will get good marks in both exams, you will get really a very good IITs and NITs.
Same advise for IIST. JEE Mains and Advanced exams are required to get admission in IIST.

If you are preparing for the IIT JAM exam, then you can go with:
1. Quantum mechanics: By Zetili, Griffith or Schaums series.
2. Solid State Physics: By Kittel, MA Omar or SO Pillai.
3. Statistical physics: By Reif.
4. Mathematical physics: By Riley, Hobson and Bence or Arfken Weber.
5. Classical mechanics: By Goldstein, JR Taylor or David Morin.
6. Thermodynamics: By Zeemansky, FW Sears or GL Salinger.
7. Optics: By Ghatak, Brijlal and Subhramanyam.
8. Electrodynamics: By Griffith.
9. Semiconductor and electronics: By Boylested or Gaekwad.
10. Nuclear physics: By Irwin or Devnathan.
11. Molecular and atomic physics: By Rajkumar or White.

There is no college bias in IIM selection. Selection is purely based on meritocracy. If you crack CAT and do well in GDPI you stand fair chances to get selected in IIMs.

No, IIT's give admission solely on the basis of JEE advanced rank.
However, you can apply to other government as well as some non-government colleges with the JEE Mains rank.

Engineering syllabus covered in almost all engineering colleges is similar. Major difference in IITs and other engineering colleges is quality of teaching faculty and facilities. Also, IITs attract top talent for Engineering. Top students taught by best faculties in best teaching infrastructure produce best engineering graduates.

Dear Vidyapati,
Some of the best colleges for M.Tech include IISC-Bangalore, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Roorkee and IIT-Patna. I would suggest you to go for IISC, Bangalore or IIT Bombay/Kharagpur/Kanpur considering your scores.

If you want to earn decent salary, then you can pursue B.Tech in computer science. I would suggest you to pursue engineering from a good college.

Yes, you can get admission into IIT. You can work hard for an year in coaching institute. They will definitely help you in cracking the exam.
Also, they will help you with concepts of all the subjects so that you can easily solve questions. Beside this, first you have to clear your concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Maths so that you can solve the high level questions also.
