Normally speaking electrical engineering is better than metallurgical branch. But then B.Tech in an IIT has much more snob value than NIT. This causes majority of IIT graduates to get placed irrespective of branch. However I would like to advise you that ignore this and select the branch that fascinates you and not on the basis of ranking of the institution. Best wishes to you.

A tag of IIT is far better than any of the NITs but looking at the course and faculty, I would suggest you to go for electronics as the scope for this field is increasing day by day and so the placements.

It's better to go for top NITs for CS branch as doing in lower IITs is not gonna make you get placed in top companies and even CS is way better and has more scope than Electronics. So, Go with top NITs for CS.

IIIT Hyderabad will be the best option in comparison to IIT BHU. Only 5 IITs are better than IIIT-Hyderabad that include IIT Bombay, Delhi, Kharagpur, Madras and Kanpur.
