At this score, he should look for specialised or interdisciplinary branches where the OBC cutoff is lower:
IIT Jammu / IIT Dharwad: May get core Electrical or Power Electronics in later rounds.
IIT BHU (Varanasi): Possible for programs like Electrical Machines and Drives or specialised Chemical/Materials branches (if they accept EEE).
IIT Mandi: Possible for Power Electronics & Drives (PED) or Energy Engineering.
IIT Gandhinagar / IIT Bhubaneswar: Good chances for interdisciplinary branches like Biomedical Engineering or Earth System Science.

Mahatma Gandhi University (Kerala) has many affiliated engineering colleges, but one important thing to understand is that most engineering colleges in Kerala are now primarily affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), even if they were earlier linked with MG University. So, the list of colleges offering EEE under MG University affiliation is limited or overlapping.
Some notable colleges historically/partially affiliated with MG University that offer Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) include:

For B.Tech (or B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sri Sai Ram Institute of Technology, the admission process is mainly state-level merit-based rather than a single entrance exam like JEE-only colleges.
The college primarily accepts admission through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), which is based on your 12th board marks (PCM) and not a separate entrance exam. This is the main route for most students.
Along with that, some sources also mention that the institute may consider other recognised entrance exam scores such as JEE Main, KCET, or similar exams, depending on t

No there is no AICTE-approved distance B.Tech in Electrical or EEE in India.
This is very important to understand clearly. In India, bodies like AICTE and UGC do not allow B.Tech to be offered in distance or fully online mode because engineering requires labs, practical training, and hands-on work.
In fact, it has been clearly stated that distance B.Tech degrees are not valid and are not recognised for jobs, higher studies, or government exams. Even the Supreme Court and AICTE have confirmed that universities cannot run B.Tech in distance mode.
So if any college is offering “distance B.Tech EEE

If you want to pursue EC or EEE but are considering Lovely Professional University instead of Gogte College, the admission process at LPU is much simpler and more flexible.
First, you need to have completed your 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with at least around 60% marks. This is the basic eligibility for B.Tech programs like ECE or EEE at LPU. After that, you can apply through LPUNEST, which is the university's own entrance exam. You can also use scores from exams like JEE Main or CUET, but most students prefer LPUNEST because it is easier and also helps in getting scholarships.
Once you clear the entrance or meet the
