Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Eligibility

1. Entrance Exam: The first step in the admission process for undergraduate programs at IIT Delhi is to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and serves as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced.
2. JEE Advanced: Candidates who qualify the JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. It is a more specialised and competitive exam that tests the candidates' knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
3. Counseling and Seat Allotment: Based on the JEE Advanced ranks, candidates are called for counseling and seat allotment. The counseling process is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). During counseling, candidates can choose their preferred branch and institute based on their rank and availability of seats.

It is crucial that aspirants fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed by the institute. Candidates with the below-mentioned qualification can apply for PhD at IIT Delhi:

• Master degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Humanities or equivalent in relevant stream with a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate
• Full-time students who do not possess M.Tech or equivalent degree
• BTech or equivalent degree with CGPA of 7.00 on a 10-point scale or 70% aggregate
• MBBS degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate
• MD/ MD degree after MBBS with a minimum of 60% aggregate
• Registered students of CFTIs having CGPA of 8.0 or above on a 10-point scale) at the end of sixth semester or later in BTech/ BE/ Integrated MTech/ Integrated MSc
• MA/ MSc graduates from IITs with CGPA 8.0 or above
