Hello Pankaj, IT would be a better choice as compared with electronics and telecommunication. However both these branches have good prospects for job when you pass out. In addition jadavpur university has a good name academically, hence many recruiters come here for placements. As far as the mop up round is concerned, it's like a lottery ticket! Nobody can predict and anybody can win !Best wishes to you.

The NITs as you described are low ranked but are the best among the private Universities. So if you get a chance than avail it. Otherwise its better to go for next year for high ranked NITs.
