It is better to do specialised area of study and when you do Masters you will further do advanced. When you continue in the same line you become more employable and also can easily do your Ph.D with a stipend.

For lateral entry, a student must have passed 10+2 and have done a computer course of minimum 6 months duration. Students with a three year Diploma in IT from State Board of Technical Education are also eligible for lateral entry to BCA programme.

The Indian Institute Information Technology is fully or partially dependent on MHRD funding like IIIT Allahabad, Jabalpur, etc. While the international Institute Information Technology ones are Setup on Public Private Partnership by respective State Governments and Industry Partners like IIIT Sri City, IIIT kotak, IIIT Vadodara, etc.

A Bachelor's degree of minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge) course pattern of study Or any pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirement of 15 years of formal education. Degree should be from a recognised university with a minimum of 40% marks.

Yes, because according to university norms, students who have passed 10+2 examination with minimum 45% of aggregate marks (40% for SC and ST Candidates) in any stream are qualified to opt for BCA course.
