Students at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Chennai must have a 75% overall attendance rate to be qualified to take the National Council’s annual exams. 

A student may be offered the opportunity to make up an internal evaluation, they can reappear if they miss it for a justifiable reason, such as illness or a family emergency. 

However, this is not guaranteed and depends on the discretion of the institute. 
Therefore, it is advisable to avoid missing the internal exams at IHM Chennai unless absolutely necessary.
