Depends on your niche. If for example your aim is to be completely focused on Investment Banking, then practical experience is given more importance than just knowledge gathered.

So one should find a good course (online or offline) that is short term and provides these 3 things, - structured curriculum, Good Mentorship/guidance and Practical application of knowledge in the form of work that you can add to your CV.

From my personal knowledge  I know a friend of mine who did his investment banking from IIM Skills, post his engineering degree and not only did he enjoy his course he was actually able to crack and land an opportunity of

There are many courses that can help you to begin your journey in investment banking. But what I always advice is choose some course that -a) is not too time taking b) provides excellent curriculum structure c) has the facilitation of live classes and access to mentors  d) Optional but if a course also helps you with placement and recommendations to kickstart your journey then it is the most fulfilling way to study.

Of course none of this will matter if your own effort isn't a full 100%, so keep that in mind when searching and comparing which courses out there would be best.

I personally can think of IIM Skills' investment ban

You can pursue any stream in your high school years/even UG years for investment banking course. However, if your aim is to be good at it and not feel overwhelmed when starting out, then pursuing commerce in your high school years, followed by focusing on Finance, Accounting and Excel will help greatly. If your aim is solely for investment banking, I suggest going for a short term course that tackles those exact regions first.

IIM Skills offers investment banking courses, I know a friend of mine who enrolled not too long back and has successfully transitioned from a software engineer to an Investment Banker, through their curriculum and

Well it always helps having basic level knowledge on finance, Excel and accounting. However. there are a few courses I do know who will also provide the basics, before going into advanced portions of the subject. The most important part is the willingness to learn new things at any given moment.

If you have that mindset, anything you wish to pursue is far more possible (some exceptions exist of course).

That said if you're a total novice in IB you should of course begin self study yet aim for a short term course certification on that subject preferably with guidance/mentorship.

Off the top of my head, I know of IIM Skills, who

Best way to go about this, is finding out the right kind of short term course for yourself. There are certain criteria to keep in mind.

Curriculum details, Mentorship style, and if possible providing placement assistance.

Personally I am aware of IIM Skills' Investment Banking course thanks to a friend of mine pursuing through them and he has so far enjoyed their course and is right now getting an inhouse internship to gain hands on experience. So you have to aim for that sort of a course curriculum which is both short yet not low in gaining practical experience and knowledge.

Two ways to go about it. Long scenic route. Short to the point route.

The long scenic Route is pursuing MBA  which is a time sink but provides you knowledge over many different things.

Short route is focusing on exactly those trends/ subjects pertaining to investment banking by pursuing a short term course that targets everything you want to know about the subject matter .

Even after that what should be taken into consideration is the guidance/ assistance to push you into the banking field. It's a very competitive field.

So my advice if you do pursue investment banking irrespective of your stream you need to go for a course/ ins
