Candidates need to be pass out in 10+2 with the qualifying marks. The application to TNEA is also made online, where it gives the applicant an account for filling up the form. the required documents that are submitted along with the educational certificates will get verified. In due course, a random number will be allotted to them for counseling. Admission is done solely on merit basis and seat availability in preferred courses. The selected candidates after paying admission fee get enrolled.

Direct admissions are also available directly into the J.J. College of Engineering and Technology. All such candidates who would have cleared their 10+2 level with minimum specified marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics can apply. In order to get seats through this management quota mode, an extra fee has to be paid besides the entrance exams.
