Candidates need to be pass out in 10+2 with the qualifying marks. The application to TNEA is also made online, where it gives the applicant an account for filling up the form. the required documents that are submitted along with the educational certificates will get verified. In due course, a random number will be allotted to them for counseling. Admission is done solely on merit basis and seat availability in preferred courses. The selected candidates after paying admission fee get enrolled.

Direct admissions are also available directly into the J.J. College of Engineering and Technology. All such candidates who would have cleared their 10+2 level with minimum specified marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics can apply. In order to get seats through this management quota mode, an extra fee has to be paid besides the entrance exams. Besides, entrance exam scores having valid marks from any one of the recognised entrance exams conducted by TNEA can also be considered for direct admission on merit.

J.J. College of Engineering and Technology does not provide a 100% scholarship. It, however, provides different types of scholarship opportunities based on merit and financial need. Scholarships are available for the economically weaker section as well as for excellent academics. Schemes include government scholarships specifically BC/MBC and SC/ST students. There may be management scholarships in the college for deserving candidates. These programs target affordability in education and challenge a student to take up their skills in engineering without sky-rocketing fees.

The placement record is pretty good in J.J. College of Engineering and Technology. Nearly 70-80% of students are getting placements. The highest package goes around INR 10 LPA, whereas the average package goes somewhere between INR 3 LPA and INR 5 LPA. Some of the recruiters are TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant, so it shows some good connection with the industry. The college concentrates on developing skills and hands-on training for this reason; the students are found to be much employable and competitive in the job market. The placement cell supports the career aspiration of students strongly.

The fee structure of the J.J. College of Engineering and Technology varies between about INR 35,000 to INR 2,00,000 a year. The B.E./B.Tech charges are up to INR 2 Lakhs till the completion of the program. MBA and MCA charge about INR 35,000 per annum. It mirrors a desire of the college to be good with quality education, maintaining at the same time open availability to a greater spectrum of students for their tuition without sacrificing competitiveness for education while remaining affordable.
