Eligibility criteria: Students appearing for the IIT JAM exam must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks for the general category students and 5 percent relaxation for Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and Other Backward Caste students. However, Final year students can also be eligible. Exam pattern:

Exam Duration: 3 hours
Test Language: English only
Type of Questions: MCQs, Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and NAT
Subjects: Biotechnology, Chemistry Geology, Economics, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics. Total number of Questions: 60
Total Marks: 100 marks
Purpose of IIT JAM Exam: It is a national-level online entrance examination conducted for candidates seeking admission to Master of Science and other post-graduation programs. Joint Admission test for Masters 2023 scores will be used for direct admission to over 2000 seats for counseling through Centralized Counselling for M.Sc. CCMN in National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. Based on the updated IIT JAM eligibility criteria, the candidates must pass the qualifying degree examination. Also, if a candidate is promoted without a mark sheet then he/she can submit the promotion Certificate with the details of the subjects taken in that semester/year to evaluate the MEQ requirements for admission to a specific programme. Candidates who are pursuing the qualifying examination have to submit proof of passing the qualifying examination to the admitting institute by Sep 30, 2023. There is no restriction in the upper age limit for IIT JAM. The reservation policy will be as per government norms. IIT JAM 2023 Eligibility Criteria has been relaxed for all the candidates. The authority has removed the criteria of minimum marks required in the UG programs to become eligible for the admission process. This year, candidates who will qualify the exam will directly become eligible for admission on IIT JAM scores. The exam is scheduled to be held on Feb 12, 2023.
