GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all-India entrance exam that allows candidates to apply for IITs, NITs, IISc, and some other applied science institutes/universities. GATE exam can be given only by those candidates who have applied science degrees like B.E and B.Tech, to M.Tech and M.Sc by research integrated Ph.D. and direct Ph.D. program. IIT JAM (Joint Entrance Test for M.Sc) is an all-India entrance exam that allows candidates to apply for IITs, IISERs, IISc, and NITs. Indian Institute of Technology - Joint Admission Test IIT JAM is an online entrance exam for master in Science for candidates who want to get admission in IITs, NITs and IISc under courses like M.Sc. Integrated Ph.D. Joint M.Sc-PhD, M.Sc-PhD Dual Degree. IIT JAM was conducted by IISc Bangalore in 2021. It is expected to be conduct by IIT Roorkee in 2022. 1. IIT JAM conduct in 7 subjects:

There is no restriction about the distance degree for appearing in IIT JAM exam for M.Sc. Mathematics. So you can be eligible if meeting the below criteria. Educational qualification for M.Sc. Mathematics :
1. All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelors degree.
2. In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates, and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.
3. Studied Mathematics in graduation for at least two years/four semesters.
