IIT Delhi MSc Eligibility & Highlights 2026
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi offer MSc course in full-time mode across distinct specialisations. It is a two-year programme, spread across four academic semesters. IIT Delhi admission to various MSc specialisations differs. IITD MSc admission in Chemistry is based on a valid IIT JAM score, followed by a CCMN Counselling round. For MSc cognitive science course admission is through COGJET/GATE/JAM/NET followed by an interview round.
The admission process for MSc programmes begins will the release of the application form, which is generally released in the month of March. Aspirants applying through IIT JAM, have to apply for the same. Further, candidates seeking admission to an MSc programme at IIT Delhi must fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements. Applications of only the eligible candidates are treated as valid. However, the seat allotment is carried out as per the selection procedure. IIT Delhi admission is entrance-based for all the programmes (Except for PG Diploma). For the diploma course, selection is done merit-basis. Candidates who have passed Class 12 can apply for the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi undergraduate courses. More details around the admission process of some of the courses are provided below:
- Candidates, who have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with an aggregate of 75% or above, can appear for JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced and JoSAA Counselling to seek BTech admission at IIT Delhi.
- Admission to MTech course is based on merit in GATE exam followed by GOAP counselling.
- For MSc, aspirants need to apply with a valid score of IIT JAM and selected candidates have to further go through CCMN counselling.

The eligibility criteria for IIT Delhi MSc require applicants to have scored at least 55% in their graduation. They must hold a valid bachelor's degree in a relevant stream. Hence, a candidate with 60% in graduation can apply for IIT Delhi MSc admission. However, this is does not guarantee a seat for MSc at the institute. Admission to the course is entrance-based.
