No, for IISER Pune's M.Sc. program, you cannot get admission with just a JAM score and without the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). While a JAM score (specifically for Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics) is a requirement for some IISERs, IISER Pune uses the IAT as its primary mode of admission for its M.Sc. programs.

Admission to IIT Kharagpur to the MSc course is mainly based on the IIT JAM entrance test. JAM in most cases will be mandatory in order to take admission in core streams in sciences such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematic. JAM is standard at interdisciplinary MSc programs, although there are other requirements in some programs. You should always look at the departmental requirements prior to the application.

Considering the IIT Ropar JAM cutoff 2025 for the Round 4 seat allotment, yes, there are courses reaching upto a cutoff rank of 500 at IIT Ropar. For the candidates belonging to the General AI quota, a 500 rank would not fetch you M.Sc. in Chemistry, but it could get you M.Sc. in Mathematics and MSc in Physics. Check out the MSc options for the General All India categories from the tables below:
For the General AI category:
| Course | 2025 |
|---|---|
| M.Sc. in Chemistry | 419 |
| M.Sc. in Mathematics | 521 |
| M.Sc. in Physics | 521 |

Considering the IIT Guwahati JAM cutoff 2025 for the Round 4 seat allotment, an IIT JAM rank of 300 is commendable, but it depends on the branch and category whether you will get admission to IIT Guwahati or not. For the candidates belonging to the General AI quota, a 300 rank would not fetch any course as the General All India category cutoffs are ranging between 61 and 265, so, candidates need to score at least 265 rank to secure any seat at IIT Guwahati. Check out the Round 4 seat allotment for the General All India category from the tables below:
| Course | 2025 |
|---|---|
| M.Sc. in Chemistry | 268 |
| M.Sc. in Physics | 265 |
| M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing | 61 |
| M.Sc. in Mathematics | 139 |

Candidates can get admission to the IISER Pune MSc course without IIT JAM scores. However, it completely depends on the specialisation candidates have selected. Candidates can get admission into MSc in Mathematics and MSc in Physics (Quantum Technology) without IIT JAM scores. For MSc Physics, candidates with relevant scores in the GATE exam with subject codes PH, EE, EC, IN, MA, ST, CS, and DA can also apply, and for MSc Mathematics, the institute accepts its in-house-entrance test.
