IIT Ropar College Review.

Placements: The placements had been decent. A lot of students were really keen on applying to certain companies. The reason the pay was not that great was that there seems to be a lack of growth opportunities in the industry. Its frustrating, for sure. On the bright side, our placement cell was pretty proactive. They had a bunch of options for us to consider when applying to different companies.

Infrastructure: The hostel and the mess were decent. We had Wi-Fi in the classrooms, and you can easily access the LAN from your room in the hostel. Everything you need was right on campus. The classrooms were spacious and had projectors, which was nice. A big stadium for cricket and football, not to mention an indoor stadium for badminton.

Faculty: Faculty members were good, but you really have to show up to class regularly to succeed. Most students pass, but those who barely attend do not. The curriculum could use a better structure, so students often have to figure things out on their own to be ready for the industry. The semester exams were just right in terms of difficulty, so if you want to pass, you definitely need to prepare.

IIT Ropar College Review.

Placements: Every student heads straight for placements. Some actually land foreign Ph.D. positions, which is pretty impressive. Others might choose to stick around in academia. Most students placements were on campus or off. There were some academic internships out there from companies like Doubtnut and Toppr, which could be a great opportunity. The coaching industry was always on the lookout for students from the M.Sc. Chemistry branch, especially for NEET JEE, and JAM prep. There were plenty of paths to explore.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was practical, with solid facilities for both sports and academics. You can always plug into a LAN port for unlimited public Ethernet. The campus was buzzing with organized events, and the various clubs really enhance diversity and opportunities for students.

Faculty: Teachers were definitely qualified and offered plenty of assistance. Their teaching methods were top notch, and the training programme was relevant, really gearing students up for the industry. Semester exams sit at a medium difficulty level, but the pass percentage often reflects the class average, which was around 50%.

Placements: As 98% of students from our discipline of Master of Science in Chemistry got placed, with the best package of 18.5 LPA and an average package of 5.8 LPA. Some companies, including Venkatasai Life Sciences, Syngene, Turning, and Innodata, took part in the recruitment process offering expected packages.

Infrastructure: As there is limited access provided to students for using the laboratories, students are asked to pay a breakage fee even if they are not involved in any such incidents. Also, the classrooms are air-ventilated and equipped with water and other teaching facilities.

Faculty: Professors are known for their solid knowledge and are paid higher salaries. They want to make their classes meaningful and understandable, so they take their own time to complete every topic. To cover the whole portion within time, most tests and exams are avoided.

My review of this college.

Placements: The placement process was too good, almost every student got placed at the placement, and also there was a placement cell for placements. From the final year onwards, students become eligible for placements. There are a lot of companies like Accenture, Flipkart, Amazon, HSBC, etc., which offer 5-10 students. The highest package was 50 LPA, and average is 9- 15 LPA. Usually, many students got placed from our college, and the minimum percentage required to sit in the placement was 75, i.e., 7.5 CGPA, and also sometimes it depends on the recruitment company criteria, all covers, the process was good.

Infrastructure: The hostel was too good. Every student had a personal room. The food and electricity facility was too good. Here, you can use the internet, and the facilities were good too. The washrooms were too good.

Faculty: The faculty were very experienced and were excellent in their subjects, and having a Ph.D. in their subjects, they also guided us very well with the best approach, and the way of teaching was very familiar and not too hectic with the subjects. University exam. Internal exams had 2 cycle tests, which constituted 10 internal marks each, and the model exam carries 20 internal marks. Then 5 marks for assignments and 5 marks for attendance of particular subjects. We will have major courses and non major electives courses. Also seminar class will be held in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th semester exams. Semester examination was held in the department for M.Sc. students, and classes were also held in the department. One had to submit the fee to the college and collect the admit card and mark sheet from there. This choice cost me around 3 Lacs rupees. The college had an environment of studies as well as extracurricular activities.

Other: There were many opportunities for scholarships during the semesters.
