Hello P Balaji, your ranking in the entrance exam conducted for engineering colleges by the state of Andhra Pradesh is reasonably good but it cannot be considered as very good. With this ranking I feel that you should get a reasonably good college and a branch. however to help you I am attaching a link that can predict the branch and the college that you can get based on your performance in this examination.

Hello Chanakya, if I may ask as to why you want to leave chemical engineering? It's a fantastic branch and one could get great salary. In addition, one can choose whatever field one likes Viz research, teaching, management etc. Till humans remain on the globe, requirements of chemical engineers will always exist. However you can definitely switch to software. Nothing should stop you from pursuing your ambitions. Best wishes to you.
