You would require a minimum of 97 to 98 percentile to get admission in B.Tech programme in HBTU, Kanpur. The cutoff rank for CSE is around 21,000 which would be approximately. 97.5 percentile. The last ranks for other core branches are EE - 31,000; ME - 29,000; CE - 35,000 etc.

If you want to get into NIT Trichy and if you are not worried about the department, your rank has to be below AIR 20000. In 2018, scoring 145 or more in JEE Mains would put you in this position. Here are the department specific score requirements (Data from 2018 results), Computer Science & Engineering AIR 4900 - l210 or more in JEE
Electronics & Communications Engineering AIR 6900 200 or more in JEE
Electrical & Electronics Engineering AIR 9000 185 or more in JEE
Mechanical Engineering AIR 11000 170 or more in JEE
Instrumentation and Control Engineering AIR 14000 160 or more in JEE
Chemical Engineering AIR 17900 155 or more in JEE

Selecting a college depends on a lot of factors. Placements
Faculty
Infrastructure
College life
Past achievements
Ranking and Reputation etc. Based on these IIIT Gwalior is definitely a better option than the new IIITs and it is considered one of the top IIITs in India. You should consider the upgrades and downgrades resulting from the switch, but I assure you IIIT Gwalior will not disappoint you.

JEE is related to the engineering field, whereas NEET is related to the medical field. JEE and NEET are both held on an annual basis, and with limited seats, passing these exams becomes more difficult for students. Furthermore, the number of seats in medical colleges is much lower than in engineering colleges. Due to the lesser number of seats available in medical colleges and the high level of competition in NEET getting into a good medical college is challenging. As for difficulty level, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is slightly tougher than Joint Entrance Examination-Mains but easier than Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced
