For general category students, the eligibility criteria for admission to NITs is a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in the 12th standard board exam or being in the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams. However, for SC/ST/PwD candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% aggregate marks in the 12th standard board exam. So basically if you come under the SC/ST/PwD candidates then your are eligible for NIT college.

It's depends on the state in which you presides. Having 90 percent can lead you to gold colleges in your state where they consider JEE Mains marks. If you are from general category it's a little difficult but if you are from ews or OBC or SC then you can get a good NIT or gfti so apply for them in JoSAA counseling.
