Both the college are the best for journalism in Ahmedabad.
In my opinion NIMCJ is the better one. As NIMCJ ranked under 15 Mass communication college in India. Also NIMCJ provide 100%placement.Students are placed immediately after the completion of the course. NIMCJ is the go - to place for media student.

See the Eligibility – 10+2 pass out with 50% in any stream, 12th class appearing students may also apply.
You can get a decent college with your excellent academic performance but I would rather suggest you to go for competitive exams.

Yes, you can join Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication directly by filling the application form available on their official website. The university accepts only online applications for admission, and the application is valid only after receiving the prescribed fees. Candidates can apply for any number of programs by filling separate forms and paying the requisite fees for each program.
