Commonly asked questions
On MBA Exams Cutoffs
Q:   Are CAT cut offs announced along with the CAT result?
A:

CAT cut-offs are not announced along with the CAT result. The cut-offs are also not released publicly. They are known after a few days of the result announcement when the IIMs and other colleges start their shortlisting process. The IIMs will open the shortlist window based on the CAT cut-offs two to three days after the result announcement. The CAT percentile of candidates shortlisted for the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) can be considered the cut-off for that IIM. For example, if a candidate with a CAT percentile of 99 belonging to the General category is selected for the WAT/GD-PI of IIM Calcutta, then the CAT cut-off for IIM Calcutta is 99 percentile. Only those candidates who make it to the WAT/GD-PI round of IIMs will get to know the cut-offs.

Good placements with top-notch infrastructure, but the fees are a little bit on the higher side.
Placements: Majority of students got placed who maintained a good CGPA above six and completed internship as it also carries credit for the course. The highest package offered is 50 LPA, and it is a domestic package. The average is around 10 LPA, which students got in reality.
Infrastructure: Cannot comment on hostel as I am a day scholar. Infrastructure available is of top-notch quality. Many canteens are available on the campus. Library has some limited books and is not up to date.
Faculty: Teachers here are helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable and can be trusted blindly, but the curriculum is not up to date, it lags 20 years behind. Semester exams are tough and cannot be taken for granted. Many students got backlogs in their exams, and those who got 5 backlogs need to repeat a year.
Other: I chose this college because it is the best in Pune and also helps students get placed.

MIT WPU - This is the reality.
Placements: I am currently studying in the course of B.Tech CSE AIDS, and it is one of highest placing courses. It has the required skill set that companies these days look for the most. You can get offered as an AI expert, developer, or data analyst. Around 40% of the students get placed through campus placements. The average package is between 7 LPA - 10 LPA, and the highest has gone upto 50 LPA.
Infrastructure: There are well-developed and invested labs for different subjects. Campus has Wi-Fi. Library is also very useful and very accessible. Campus has a medical room for emergencies, and the hostels are decent. Hostels are okay, but they are extremely far away from the college. Although the college offers transport, it gets tiring to travel that much every single day.
Faculty: Faculty members are well qualified and they teach well. The course is also well updated and nicely designed to cover all the concepts that companies need. The exams are mildly difficult but around 80% of the students pass. Sometimes the faculty is a little biased towards certain students but that is usually not the case.
Other: College organises a lot of events. There are student bodies in which you can take part and organise those events yourself.

Good infrastructure, average placement and high fees.
Placements: I was placed at Infosys with a package of 7.5 lacs. The highest package was 50 lacs. TCS also recruited students from my college. About 60% of the students got internships, and some students even got a chance to study abroad for a few days.
Infrastructure: There were no sports facilities on campus and no wifi for students. The campus has a very big ground, but it is only used for events. The campus has many trees and is not that big, but it is ok. There is an interdepartmental sports competition each year, and there is an esports club too.
Faculty: The teachers are good and they make sure that the students are industry ready. The semester exams are not that difficult, and the lab and tutorials are also not that difficult. If we attend all the lectures, the teachers will give us full marks. There is an 80% attendance criterion for the exams.
Other: I chose this college because I had an interest in coding. The college offers a variety of events throughout the year, which helps keep things interesting.

Review of MIT-WPU.
Placements: 70% students were placed, and the average for CSE was 10 LPA. Many were unable to get placed. They were given internships by the college, and then they got placed at lower salaries. Still, the placement rate is so high, it's worth it. Many got placed in cities like Bangalore with a 15 LPA package.
Infrastructure: For CSE, we have a new building, and it has top-notch infrastructure. 4 labs on each floor, and each lab has 70 iMac setups. Canteens are really good, and the on-campus café too. We also have a sports complex where the ground floor has a huge swimming pool, which is very clean, and above that is the indoor games floor, like table tennis, and on top, we have a badminton hall.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally good. We have guest lecturers also, and the curriculum is the reason for choosing it among other Pune colleges. It has a unique curriculum designed to make anyone industry-ready. College exams are not that tough, but every lab session and every small tutorial is of good quality and helps someone learn a lot. It's not just for submission's sake.
Other: I wish there had been AC in the library, lol. Other than that, the college is really good, lol. The fests are really awesome, and many teaching and non-teaching events keep happening from time to time. The college's reputation wasn't good a few years ago, but now the college has undergone many substantial changes.

My honest review about my college.
Placements: Self jobs, placement facility is not available. Many more are working at KEM Mumbai, B.J. Medical Pune, Hindurao Delhi, AIIMS, but due to their own attempt. I took an internship at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, Sangli. An internship is going on, but without a stipend, they refuse to provide a stipend for interns.
Infrastructure: Hostel and mess facilities are not available for degree courses in this college. Students who are pursuing a B.Com have to find their lodge. The college does not provide a hostel facility.
Faculty: It is very nice. In the 1st year, we enjoyed a lot. After that, in the 2nd year, we feel there are a few tough topics to learn, and for third-year students, they also need to be very focused on their studies, but overall, it is nice. Internal exams happen twice a year, and then an annual exam is conducted by the university once a year. Both external and internal exams happen on the college campus itself. They are very nice, all the faculty members are good, they give their lectures on time, and they are very caring in nature. It is the toughest course I have ever attended or heard of. Every mark earned there in 3 years is hard-earned and a lot to learn. Professors there set a very high benchmark for students. Industry-level assignments are done in the course curriculum. Professors don't allow students to cheat or copy internet-available assignments.

The average placement in the 2023-25 batch.
Placements: Students with good grades got a 7 LPA package. The highest package would be 9 LPA, and the average package would be between 5-7 LPA. A few students dropped out of the course in the second year. From 140 students, we went down to 120 students in the second year. Marketing Assistant, Business Development Executive, and HR Manager were a few of the roles offered to the students.
Infrastructure: MIT is a Lyceum institute where events happen every now and then. Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms are all well-maintained with hygiene. The faculty is really good and will help you understand in a relatable manner. A few students dropped out of the course in the second year. From 140 students, we went down to 120 students in the second year.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful. When in doubt, they will help you understand in a relatable manner. The semester exams are easy if you attend the lectures because the questions are application-based. The professors are highly qualified with PhDs, and some have real-life experience too.
