As such there is no fix or average package, totally depend on your skills and interview performance at the time of on campus or off campus placement. Yes, it's right that in starting before graduation or after graduation, students get between 8k to 40k. But don't think about money first. Just try to understand the field one in which you want to work. Within two or three years, as you will know about the fundamentals of industry, they will get higher salary as others.

If you really know writing and the skills of storytelling then, there is no need to have a degree in mass communication. Even now there are a number of stringers who are working for news channels and newspapers but they don't have any degree. That doesn't mean they are not reporters. They are doing well and the organisations are paying well as like other ones. But some organisations have a procedure for appointment of reporter. They can ask for a professional degree in Journalism Field. So don't worry, you can fulfill the degree formalities through distance mode and just join any organisation as intern first. You should go for BJMC from IP University only. The syllabus curriculum of IP University is well defined as per the demand of media industry. So, students learn a lot of things during their graduation. Even most of the students have placed by the campuses during graduation only after the 5th semester as according to their choice of field. So, just go for IPU only. Again, if you have any doubt then we can discuss more.

There is a lot of struggle in media. However, if you have good skills then starting package can be between 8K to 30K max. It depends on your academic background and experience.

The process, by itself, is simple, you go to the college, fill in another college form that requires stuff like your best four subject's score, course preferences, etc. The next step is that if you are meeting the cut-off, you will be required to submit your documents and pay the fee. Private colleges simply offer admission without any test.
