CGPA calculation is based on the grades secured in the semester exams of subjects. Both SGPA and CGPA will be mentioned in the grade sheet of semester exam results.

If a student's miss internal exams in Kanpur Institute of Technology, he/she will be marked Absent in internal exam. In result internal back was shown. He / She have to clear the internal back next year by giving re internal of that particular subject.

There is less chance to fail in internal exam. But if a student fails internal exams at Kanpur Institute of Technology he/she will have to give internal exam next year you just have to fill the back paper form so you can reappear in the exam.

This is difficult to answer but in particular department there's more strength than others. Like, CSE department have a strength of approximately 150 every year, so as ECE and IT. Comparatively, EE, ME and Civil engineering have less strength. So, about 500 is the approximate strength of student of each batch.

First year of the college brings a lot of exposure and opportunities not only in academics but also in a wide array of other interests. You can join the club of your interest as college has made many clubs like GK club, Social club, Innovation club, Badminton club, Cricket club and many more to find out and nurture your hidden personality. About Academics, for internals, just study before one week and give your best in the semester end exams. For the rest of the time, develop your skills, go out with your friends and have the best time of college life, as you will not get this time again.

There is no strict dress code as such. But at the time of practical, placement training. You have to wear white shirt with blue jeans and formal shoes. But on regular days you can wear whatever you want but the dress has to be decent.

Inside the college, there is Boys hostel and Girls hostel. Facilities provided for the hosteler is quite amazing. Hostel fees is 67k including Mess. Many PGs and private hostel are available near the college which have quite good facilities.
