KARTET Pattern

KARTET Paper 2 also consists of 5 sections, but the content of these sections is different from that of Paper 1. The sections in KARTET Paper 2 are:

1. Child Development and Pedagogy: This section is similar to the one in Paper 1, but the questions are designed to test the candidates' understanding of the educational psychology and teaching methodologies for students in the age group of 11-14 years.
2. Language 1: This section is also similar to the one in Paper 1, but the questions are designed to test the candidates' proficiency in the language for students in the age group of 11-14 years.
3. Language 2: This section is similar to the one in Paper 1, but the questions are designed to test the candidates' proficiency in the English language for students in the age group of 11-14 years.
4. Mathematics and Science: This section tests the candidates' knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts, as well as their understanding of basic concepts in Science subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc.
5. Social Studies/Social Science: This section tests the candidates' knowledge of social studies and social Science subjects, including history, geography, civics, and economics.

Each section carries equal weightage, and candidates must score a minimum of 60% marks to qualify the KARTET exam. The exam is conducted fora duration of 2.5 hours, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

KARTET Paper 1 consists of 5 sections, namely Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Each section contains 30 questions, with a total of 150 questions and a maximum score of 150 marks.

• KARTET Paper 1 includes:
  • Child Development and Pedagogy: This section tests the candidates' understanding of the concepts and principles of child development and the process of learning. It includes questions on child psychology, teaching methodologies, learning theories, etc.
  • Language 1: This section tests the candidates' proficiency in the language, including grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills.
  • Language 2: In this section, candidates can choose to answer questions in the language. The section tests the candidates' proficiency in the chosen language, including grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills.
  • Mathematics: This section tests the candidates' knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts, including numbers, geometry, algebra, etc.
  • Environmental Studies: This section tests the candidates' knowledge of the environment, including topics such as ecology, pollution, natural resources, etc.

The difficulty level of questions asked in KARTET (Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test) Exam can be considered moderate, with some questions being easy and some being more challenging. The difficulty level of the questions in the KARTET Exam may vary from year to year, and it also depends on the level of preparation of the candidates. The marking scheme of KARTET exam is as follows :-

• The KARTET exam consists of multiple-choice questions, where each question carries one mark.
• There is no negative marking for incorrect answers, which means that candidates do not lose marks for wrong answers.
• The KARTET exam has a total of 150 questions, and the maximum marks that can be scored are 150.
• To qualify the KARTET exam, candidates need to score a minimum of 60% marks, which means that they need to score at least 90 marks out of 150.

It is important to note that the KARTET exam is conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The marking scheme for both papers is the same, with each paper consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions and carrying a maximum of 150 marks. However, the content of the two papers is different, and candidates need to appear for the paper that is relevant to their desired teaching level.
