The National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) is generally considered to be a better choice for B.A. LL.B compared to the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University. NLU Delhi is ranked among the top law colleges in India
and is known for its academic excellence and strong faculty. However, the choice between the two institutions may also depend on factors such as Faculty and Infrastructure, placement and Alumni network, Curriculum and Specialisation, Location and Affordablity, Reputation and Ranking.

There are three rounds of admission counseling for the B.A. LL.B. programme at Faculty of Law, Calcutta University. The counseling is conducted online and the dates for each round are announced on the university website

| LL.B. | Candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with above mentioned marks in aggregate from any recognised Board/Council. Candidate who have obtained 10+2 Higher Secondary Pass certificate or First Degree Certificate after processing studies in Distance or Correspondence method is eligible. Candidate who have obtained 10+2 through Open University system directly without having any Basic Qualification are not eligible. Candidates who are appearing/appeared for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidate will be eligible for admission only if they produce the provisional/Degree/ certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts/attempts the of qualifying examination at the time of admission. The mentioned marks of SC/ST and OBC is for the candidate belonging to maharashtra State. |

If any candidate secured less than 45%, 42% and 40% respectively in graduation as stated above, theye should have secured same percentage or more on the aggregate in any Post Graduation or B.Ed. The percentage of 44.5% and above for General category, 41.5% or above for OBC, 39.5% and above for SC/ST will be considered as 45%, 42% and 40% of aggregate marks respectively. Candidates who have passed Degree examination by single sitting without undergoing three years course either through regular or private or correspondence and those who obtained the degree through open University directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible. There shall be no age restriction. |

Calcutta University is higher than that of the LL.M. program. In 2022, 95 out of 119 UG (5-year) students were placed, while the placement rate for PG (2-year) students is not officially released. However, the NIRF report 2023 includes the overall placement data for PG (2-year) courses, which is 70%.
