  • Scanned Passport size photograph (Format: JPEG)

Q: Ā  What are the exam timings for CLAT 2024?

A:
CLAT 2024 exam timings will be confirmed in admission notification only, which is expected to be released in May or June 2023. Generally, the CLAT exam is held from 2 pm to 4 pm every year. The duration of CLAT exam is two hours, and therefore, the exam authority schedules it on the same day for the undergraduate and postgraduate entrance exam. On the day of examination, candidates are required to report at least an hour before the exam timings, so as to complete frisking and check seating plan at the test centre. Q: Ā  When should I reach the exam centre of CLAT 2024?

A:
All candidates must report at the allotted CLAT exam centre at least 1 hour before the commencement of the exam I. e. 1:00 PM. It may be noted that no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall 15 minutes after the commencement of the exam. Therefore, candidates should reach the exam centre of CLAT on the exam day at least an hour before the exam timings for checking of documents and seating formalities. For this, candidates should estimate the time required to reach the allotted test centre beforehand. They can either use Maps or visit the test centre a days in advance if it is in their the nearest city. If they need to travel to another location from their current location, such as to Delhi from Agra, then they can look for the nearest accommodation beforehand instead of starting their journey on the exam day. If they plan to start their journey on the exam day, then they should keep at least 2-3 hours for any exigency or traffic related delays. Q: Ā  Will I be allowed to enter the CLAT exam centre if I reach after reporting time?

A:

Candidates will not be allowed to enter the CLAT exam centre after 1:30 pm. Thus, candidates must ensure they reach their exam centre on time. Candidates cannot change their ClAT exam centre if they are late. They will have to take the test at the allotted CLAT exam centre 2024 only which is why, it is important to download the CLAT admit card as soon as it releases. Candidates get ample time to make arrangements for the exam day, if their test centre is far off. CLAT 2024 exam will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm. The reporting time will be mentioned in every candidate's admit card. Candidates must also note that they can take the exam only at the centre mentioned on their CLAT admit card. They will not be allowed to enter the exam centre at any other exam venue. Thus, they must check the location of their exam centre before the exam day so that they know the requirements to reach the location on time on the exam day.

CLAT 2024 Application Form Date

The last date to submit CLAT application form 2024 was November 10, 2023. CLAT 2024 online application form could be filled out by visiting the official website; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT application process was common for 5-year integrated and 1-year LLM programs. Applicants could select the program of study during the application filling process. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the 5-year law program was a 10+2 pass with a minimum of 45 per cent marks. For LLM program, the minimum requirement is a 3-year or 5-year LLB pass with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. Relaxation in minimum marks applies to SC/ST candidates. The CLAT 2024 application fee was INR 4,000 for general and unreserved candidates. Whereas, the CLAT registration fee for SC, and ST candidates was INR 3,500.

CLAT 2024 Admit Card Date

The CLAT Consortium released CLAT Admit Card 2024 for the law exam on the official website on November 21, 2023. All candidates who have successfully registered for the exam will be able to download the Admit Card of CLAT by entering their login details i.e. mobile number and password. The CLAT admit card 2024 will mention details such as the candidate's name, date of birth, roll number, exam date, time and centre location. The CLAT 2024 admit card will be a mandatory document for candidates to gain entry inside the allotted exam centre.Ā 

CLAT 2024 Exam Date

CLAT Exam Date 2024 has been announced. CLAT 2024 will be held on December 3, 2023. The offline-based CLAT 2024 will be codncuted in more than 131 examination centres across the nation. Candidates have to appear for the CLAT exam with their admit card and a valid photo ID proof.Ā The CLAT exam 2024 will be a comprehension-based test. The CLAT question paper 2024 for UG courses will contain total 120 passage-based objective-type questions from five subjects - English Language,Ā Logical Reasoning,Ā Legal Reasoning,Ā Current Affairs including General KnowledgeĀ andĀ Quantitative Techniques. The CLAT LLM 2024 question paper will contain both objective- and subjective-type questions. However, last year, the CLAT Consortium removed the descriptive section from the LLM paper. CLAT 2024 Answer Key

The Consortium will release the preliminary CLAT answer key soon after the conduct of the exam or next day of examination. Through CLAT 2024 answer key, candidates will be able to cross-check their responses marked against each question in the examination. Candidates who have any objection against the given answer of any question, can challenge the provisional answer key in online mode on the official website in the prescribed format. The final answer key for CLAT 2024 will be released once the window for raising objections is closed. The answer key will be released in online mode on the official website of the exam.Ā 

CLAT 2024 ResultĀ 

The Consortium will declare the CLAT result within 15 days after conducting the examination. The result will be announced in online mode on the official website of the law entrance exam. The result will be released in the form of scorecard. Candidates can download their CLAT scorecard by logging in using their application number and password/date of birth. The CLAT result and scorecard contain important details about the candidates such as their name, roll number, application number, category, total score obtained, section-wise score obtained, exam qualifying status, All India Rank (AIR) and category rank.Ā 

CLAT 2024 Counselling

Counselling and seat allotment is the final stage of CLAT admission process, wherein all candidates who qualify the law entrance exam will be able to participate in CLAT counselling. The counselling and seat allotment process will be centralised and completely online. Through CLAT counselling, candidates are allotted seats in respective courses and NLUs based on merit. Q: Ā  How many rounds of counselling are conducted by the NLU Consortium?

A:
There are at least five rounds of counselling and seat allotment for CLAT exam. Multiple rounds of counselling are conducted by the NLU Consortium every year. The rounds of CLAT counselling may increase if the seats remain vacant after the fifth round. For CLAT 2022, the counselling process went upto five rounds, and in 2021 as well, there were total five seat allotment rounds conducted by the Consortium.

The seat allotment results are shared on the official website right after the counselling rounds. Q: Ā  CLAT Application Form 2024 can be filled offline?

There is no option to fill out the CLAT 2024 application form in offline mode. Also, the candidate does not have the option to take printout of the online application form, fill it, and submit it at the admission office. Instead, the entire application process has to be completed online. So, to fill out the form, go the CLAT 2024 admission portal, click on the application link, and complete the application process. Note that the application form will be hosted at the CLAT 2024 web portal, which will be launched once application form opens.

A:

Yes, the Consortium of NLUs provided the CLAT application correction window for all registered candidates so they can cross-check and edit their form. The CLAT application correction window 2024 remained open until November 12, 2023. Candidates could make changes in theirp referred test cities, and other details. CLAT application correction window is a facility for candidates to modify their details and avoid rejection due to misinformation at the time of admission process. The option to edit applications was enabled from CLAT 2021 onwards so that candidates can to make changes in choice of test cities, their name, date of birth, preferred NLUs and reservation category, if required.

Q: Ā  Will CLAT be held twice in 2024?

A:
In 2022, CLAT exam was held twice, I. e. on June 19 as CLAT 2022, and on December 18, 2022 as CLAT 2023. However, from 2024 onwards, CLAT exam is to be conducted once in a year only, as confirmed by the exam officials in the latest notification. Earlier, CLAT exam was conducted in May or June, but from 2024 onwards the entrance exam will be conducted in December (of preceding year to the admission year) itself for concluding admissions on time. Therefore, CLAT counselling process will be completed by May of each academic year.

Q: Ā  Will there be any break in between CLAT 2024 exam duration?

A:
No, the candidates will not be allowed to take breaks or exit the exam centre while they are attempting CLAT exam. Candidates will be allowed to drink water, eat or use the washroom only before or after the exam timings. Therefore, on the day of examination candidates should prepare themselves to sit for two hours straight without any breaks. They should use washroom right before entering the examination hall. They will be allowed to carry a transparent water bottle for themselves. However, they should limit the amount of water intake to avoid taking break in between. No request to leave examination hall will be allowed by the centre officials to avoid cheating or any other activities. If you have any medical condition that requires you to take a break, it will be allowed only at prior notification and permission by the exam authority.
