If you have not taken CLAT and want an admission in any of the private law schools of the country, then Symbiosis, Amity and Jindal are really good options.
Other universities like KIIT, Alliance, Christ, Lloyd, etc. are also doing well.

In Mumbai you can take admissions mainly through MH CET. You can have direct admissions in some colleges like Rizvi Law College, Mumbai. You can try for some private colleges in places nearby as well.

Depends on the college you to take admission. There are many colleges affiliated with the university, so it gives a lot of scope to the students with ranks crossing 4-5k to get admission.

You have to give LLB CET such as DU LLB CET in Delhi, MH Law CET in Maharashtra and if you are looking for a specific deemed or private university, their CET. National Law University does not offer 3 years law hence options not available please check other prescribed minimum qualification.

Hi Priya,
Yes, there is a 3-year course available as well, i.e. LLB. For getting enrolled in this course you need to take MHCET LAW entrance exam, similar to what the 5-year course students have to give.

The best books for BA LLB Honors 1-year are:
1. Law of Torts by RK Bangia or in case you are comfortable reading a slightly complicated book go for Law of Torts by Ratanlal and Dhirajlal, commonly called R&D.
2. Law of Contracts- A commentary by Polluck and Mullah is advisable or a viable option could be Law of Contracts by Avtar Singh
3. Criminal Law I - PSA Pillai
For Legal English, you no book is prescribed, go with the course module (if your college provides one).
