VELS University follows the reservation guidelines as per government norms. The university reserves a total of 22% of the seats for SC/ST category candidates. For students belonging to the other categories, such as the EWS and PWDs, the university does not have any seat reservation policy. However, it extends its support via scholarships and fee waivers.
Students who have already participated in interstate and interuniversity sports and games competitions are selected under the Sports Quota and are offered free education, including boarding and lodging.

Yes, VELS University does provide a refund in case of withdrawal of admission. However, the refund is subject to fulfillment of certain conditions. Listed below are the guidelines to be followed as per the fee refund policy of the university:
- If students apply for cancellation prior to the commencement of classes, then they are entitled to a refund of the tuition fees. In such a case, registration and admission fees are not refundable.
- If a student discontinues in the middle of a course, he/she shall be required to pay the tuition fee for the remaining period of the programme.

As per the official website of VELS University, over 3,000 students enroll for placements every year, of which 90% got placed successfully. The the highest and average packages offered during the recent placements stood at INR 8 LPA and INR 5 LPA, respectively.
