Admission to the LLM programme at GNLU is provided through merit and reservation policies, respectively. The intake of the total number of seats is filled through the CLAT PG exam, which admits candidates in order of merit. The LLM course fee at both the universities is almost the same. NLU Shimla LLM tuition fee is INR 1.2 lakh. While the course tuition fee of NLU Delhi is INR 1.4 lakh. Hence, candidates can consider getting in either of the universities, if compared based on course tuition fee. The university has a placements cell that support candidates in securing a job. A concise report of LLM placed candidates is not available. As per the student reviews, the highest package offered has stood at INR 18 LPA. Additionally, the minimum package was INR 5 LPA. Some of the top recruiters in the recent past have been Surana & Surana, Luthra & Luthra, AG Law Chambers, etc. 

The National Law University, Shimla may reserve seats for candidates belonging to the SC/ST or other such categories. To get admission under these categories, aspirants have to submit the relevant documents. The caste certificate issued by a compotent authority has to be submitted.
