CAT cut-off is 80 percentile and above. You can apply for admission in MBA. The eligibility criteria for the programme is:
Pass with 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

For placement-mechanical:
There are a very few job vacancies in mechatronics for freshers in very few organisations. Since you will not study some core subjects of mechanical engineering, you won't be able to clear GATE or any other exam. It might be a problem a problem if your goal is to do job.
For knowledge and projects- mechatronics:
It's obviously better in many ways. Thing is that you will neither be as good as a mechanical engineer nor as good as an electronics engineer so all you would be able to do is make projects and learn about both fields simultaneously. Yes, your distance education will be deemed valid for any further documentation and formal proceedings in your career. Moreover, I would suggest you to once go through UGC NET brochure as you need to match their criteria, eligibility and requirements too. Whereas, in the case of correspondence courses from LPU, your degree is valid everywhere.
