There's a lot of difference between these two institutions. St. Xavier's college is just a college, and St. Xavier University is a university. There's a lot of difference between a college and a university. St. Xavier's college still offers degrees under the name of Calcutta University and will continue to do so for the upcoming three years at least. But St. Xavier's University will offer degrees under its own name after the first session starts from this July. Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism and Travel Industry Management is a full-time course for 18-months. I think it is not possible to do both the courses simultaneously.

It completely depends on your interest! If you are interested in management studies, you should definitely go for MBA and if in finance then go for M.Com. There is no hard and bound rule for you to pursue M.Com. MBA does give you better job opportunities provided you get into a good business school. Know your passion and go ahead with it. I'm sure, you will shine in that!
