PU CET (PG) 2024 application form has been released on April 15, 2024. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam can apply till May 24, 2024. The last date to pay the application fee is May 28, 2024. The PU CET (PG) exam 2024 will be conducted on June 15, 2024 and June 16, 2024. The varsity will announce the complete PU-CET(PG) exam dates online. 

Q:   Can I appear for PU CET (PG) more than once?

A:

No, candidates cannot appear more than once for the PU-CET (PG) exam. The PU-CET (PG) exam is held only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The PU-CET (PG) exam is being conducted in the PBT (paper-based test) mode. Based on the PU_CET (PG) scores, students can apply for admission to various programmes offered by PU-CET (PG) participating colleges. The exam will only be conducted in the paper-based test mode for all the sessions. The difficulty level of the PU-CET (PG) exam is usually easy and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Candidates who wish to appear for the PU-CET (PG) exam need to apply on the official website of Punjab University and fill out the PU-CET (PG) application form once the application window opens. PU-CET (PG) is held in about four test cities in the state of Punjab. Candidates have to visit the PU-CET (PG) exam centre in order to take the exam in offline mode or paper-based test mode.

  • Executive experience of two years or above in a full-time job in a commercial or industrial establishment after having passed the qualifying examination
 

Q:   When will the PUCET (PG) registrations begin?

A:

PU CET (PG) registrations 2024 has begun on April 15, 2024. The PU CET PG application form was released on the official website of Punjab University. The candidates will be able to fill the PU CET (PG) application form online only and they will be required to pay the application fee in order to complete the PUCET (PG) application process. The application winodow will be open for approximately a month. Candidates need to submit the application form before the deadline. 

 

What is PU-CET(PG)?

PU-CET (PG) is an entrance exam conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh for admission to its various post-graduate courses. Candidates will be able to secure admission to  LLM, MCA, MA in Journalism & Mass Communication, MA, MTech, MSc, MSc (Hons), MCom, MCom (Hons), MBA, MPed, and BPed programmes. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must fill out an online application form available on the official website. The exam will be conducted in the paper-based test mode across various exam centres in Punjab.

PU-CET (PG) syllabus includes all the important topics of subjects that are relevant for business and general aptitude. For PU-CET (PG) exam, candidates have to study, Verbal Ability, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Data Interpretation. Given below are the key topics included in the PU-CET (PG) syllabus:

The Verbal Ability section of PU-CET (PG) exam syllabus includes various topics of Grammar, Word Meaning, Vocabulary, Parajumbles, Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Completion, Synonyms and Antonyms, Reading Comprehension, etc. 

The Reasoning section of PU-CET (PG) syllabus includes topics that require analytical interpretation such as Alphanumeric Series, Analogies, Artificial Language, Calendars, Blood Relations, Cause and Effect, Coding and Decoding, Input and Output, etc. 

The Data Interpretation section of the PU CET (PG) syllabus includes interpretation of data presented in the form of Puzzles, Pie Charts, Venn Diagram, Tables and Bar Graphs.

The General Knowledge section of this exam tests the candidate's knowledge of the current affairs, recent happenings, history. It includes topics such as Current affairs, Awards and Honors, Books and Authors, Brands, Taglines, Business and Economy, Politics, Literature and Media, Science and Technology, International News, Arts and Music, Days and Dates, etc. 

 

PU CET (PG) 2024 Application Process

PU CET (PG) registration is an online process. The PU CET (PG) application forms 2024 are available online on the official website of PU CET (PG). Students can fill out the online application form until the last date. The PU CET (PG) exam application process includes the following steps:

  • Creating a new user profile by filling out the PU CET (PG) exam registration form with details such as name, date of birth, gender, email ID and phone number, etc.
  • Uploading the required documents in the prescribed format.
  • Filling out the PU CET (PG) application form with the necessary details such as category, test centres, institutions, etc.
  • Payment of the application fee via credit/debit card, internet banking or UPI.

PU-CET(PG) 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for PU-CET PG 2024 must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

Master of Business Administration for Executives

The minimum qualification for admission to the first semester of the course shall be:

(i) A Bachelor‘s degree in any discipline which has been recognised by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% aggregate

  • In case of candidates have a Bachelor‘s degree in Modern Indian Languages (Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) and/or in a Classical Language (Sanskrit/Persian/Arabic) from Panjab University or any other University recognised by the Syndicate, 50% aggregate will be calculated by taking into account the full percentage of marks in all the papers excluding the optional paper, English and the elective subject taken together, or
  • The candidates must have passed the final examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, or England / Institute of Cost Accountants of India or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of England / Institute of Company Secretaries of India, or
  • The candidate holds a Diploma in Personnel Management and Labour Welfare or a Diploma in Marketing Management with not less than 60% aggregate

(ii) Executive experience of two years or above in a full-time job in a commercial or industrial establishment after having passed the qualifying examination as given above. Members of All India or State Administrative / Technical Services and Defence Personnel holding administrative positions with not less than two years of executive experience will also be eligible. Organisational sponsorship is essential. 

Master in Business Administration, Commerce and Information Technology

  • Candidate should hold BA /BSc / BCom or any other Graduation degree
  • Candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate from Panjab University or any other University recognised by the Syndicate

Note: Candidates willing to apply for MEFB (Master of Entrepreneurship and Family Business) can also hold either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in any discipline from a recognised University. In addition to this, the candidate should have also passed the final examination conducted by: 

  • The Institute of Chartered Accounts of India
  • The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and
  • The Institute of Company Secretaries of India

Candidates willing to appear for PU-CET (PG) 2024 need to fill PU-CET(PG) application form 2024 and submit the required documents. Take a look at the table below to know the PU-CET (PG) application fee.

  • PU-CET (PG) 2024 Admit Card

Registered candidates will be able to download the PU-CET (PG) 2024 admit card from the official website of Panjab University. This is an important document to be carried to the examination hall. The admit cards will be made available at least a week before the date of the examination.

  • PU-CET (PG) 2024 Exam

Once the aspirant registers successfully for the exam and receives the admit card, he/she needs to appear for the exam. The test duration will be 1 hour and 30 minutes for all three programmes.

  • PU-CET (PG) 2024 Result

 PU-CET (PG) 2024 results are generally declared within a month from the date of examination. Candidates can view their scorecards online by entering their registration numbers. Candidates who clear the exam will make it to the merit list prepared by the admission authorities. 

  • PU-CET (PG) 2024 Counselling

Once the results are declared, PU-CET (PG) 2024 counselling round will be conducted by the University where candidates are required to be present in person with all the required documents.
