The M.Phil Economics course duration used to be 2 years. Since the MPhil Economics course has been discontinued, the new batches of students can directly pursue a PhD degree after a 4-year degree (3+1 year of research) if they graduate with at least 75% marks and clear UGC NET.

In India, the eligibility criteria for a PhD in Hindi Literature are a Master's degree in Hindi or related field. Sometimes, though not always, an MPhil or qualifying NET exam score is preferred. Several universities offer direct admission into PhD based on academic records of the Master's program, research proposal, and an interview process.
