Both North Orissa University (NOU) and Fakir Mohan University (FMU) offer solid M.Sc. in Biotechnology programs, but there are some differences.

FMU has a stronger reputation, especially in research and development. It offers better faculty, research facilities, and industry connections, which can lead to better placement opportunities in biotech companies and research labs.

On the other hand, NOU also provides a good education in Biotechnology, but its industry ties and resources might not be as extensive as FMU's.

Generally, to get admission to an M.Sc. course, you need to have completed your B.Sc. without any backlogs, as most universities and colleges require a clear academic record. If you still have backlogs, it's important to clear them before applying for an M.Sc. program.

However, some institutions may allow provisional admission if you are in the process of clearing your backlogs, but you will need to submit proof of clearing the backlogs before the final admission is confirmed.

It's best to check the specific eligibility criteria of the institution you are interested in to see if they provide any flexibility regarding backlogs

No course is better than the other. The only thing is that the MSc focuses more on research, scientific methods, and clinical applications, making it ideal for roles in research, healthcare, or further academic studies like a PhD

And the MA emphasizes theoretical knowledge, qualitative analysis, and broader aspects of psychology, which is suitable for careers in counselling, education, or social services.
