The Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIIT Guwahati) offerd two years M.Tech programme under multiple sprcialisations, including Computer Science & Engineering. The BTech CSE eligibility criteria is as follows:
- Candidates with BE/BTech degree in Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology / equivalent programme.
- Candidates with MSc (Computer Science/Information Technology)
- Graduates (AMIETE) from the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in Computer Science and Engineering
- MCA from a recognised Institution.
NOTE: Candidates with any one of the above mentioned eligibility crit

- Candidates must have passed Bachelor's degree in Engineering and technology field with minimum 50% marks (45% for categories of backward class and person with disabilities being to state Maharashtra only)
- Obtained score in GATE conducted by IIT.

The required minimal score is 55%. A minimum of fifty-five per cent of marks in a B.E./B.Tech (Chemical Engg./Leather Technology/Bio-Tech./Industrial Bio-Tech./Bio-Chemical Engg./Bio-Informatics) or B.Pharm. Or M.Sc.(Ag.)/M.V.Sc./M.Sc. In any discipline of Life Sciences is needed for admission to the M.Tech. Bio-Technology application.
A GATE or PGECET scorecard is needed for admission to KL University's M.Tech application. For others, the university administers a front exam, with admission based on the merit rank of certified candidates.

Candidates who have completed their BE/BTech degree with a valid score in GATE are eligible for M.Tech degree course. Candidates who have completed a 5-year programme in Science or Applied Sciences resulting in the award of a Master of Science degree are also eligible for Master of Engineering course.
