Candidates who have completed their BE/BTech degree with a valid score in GATE are eligible for M.Tech degree course. Candidates who have completed a 5-year programme in Science or Applied Sciences resulting in the award of a Master of Science degree are also eligible for Master of Engineering course.

To be eligible for M.Tech courses in Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore there are some criteria which include:
- You must passed their qualifying degree with minimum score of 60% in B.E., B.Tech, MCA and MSc. in engineering or other disciplines.
- Non GATE qualified students also get admitted based on academic records and interview based.GATE/TANCET qualified students get some weightage in college admission.
