Surbhi, There is no such authentic one list of institutes that i can give you. All institute branches have same curriculum, like all states in India follow the same constitution. By same comparison all state progress differently and after a certain time the gap becomes huge. You could do well to create a list of places you may want to learn at, whether they are in your city or not. Then go to their websites and research about them, and even call them and talk to them. Try their website for more details. Now shortlist some you want to visit. Do not hesitate to travel - this is about your life and career. After visiting those take a decision for yourself.
There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production. you can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematograph or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D vizualizations. you may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. you can get into production, whether live or animated. You can be a story writer who writes for live and animated screens or even roll the story into a video/ pc game. you can be a script writer who would stop at nothing to give wonderful scene setups to bring the story to life. you could be an artist who designs characters or who storyboards the film for live or animated performance. you can also double up as a voice over artist who gives his/ her voice to the characters or dub for movie stars, or even be a radio star. you can alternatively look at web for a web of careers in web design, online marketing, search engine optimization, content writing, social media promoting. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world & hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. At present, most of the universities/institutes do not offer courses in genetic engineering as a separate discipline, but as a subsidiary to biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry streams. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Biotechnology offer specialisation in genetic engineering. After Plus Two, you can gain admission for B.Tech. in Genetic Engineering/Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering through an entrance test. Another option is to undergo three-year BSc degree course in Genetics / Biological Science / Life Science / Biotechnology subjects and then go for post graduation in genetics. Only SRM Institute of Science and Technology (www.srmuniv.ac.in) has introduced a four-year B.Tech. course in Genetic Engineering on the Ramapuram campus. Those who have passed 10 + 2 / equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent marks in biology, physics and chemistry are eligible for admission. Selection is based on an all-India level entrance test. Selection to the graduate courses (BE / B.Tech) is based on merit i.e the marks secured in the final exams of 10+2 and through entrance exams. University of Pune offers M.Sc Biotechnology with genetics as an subject. The admission is on the basis of a Combined Entrance Examination conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University.
