Hi Bhavika,
The future seems bright, as of now, as the University has great support from the present Government.
Given the background of St. Xaviers College, and its reputation, the University will soon gain the prestigious value; however, one cannot expect the first batch to reap the benefits just yet!
Also the level of education will be tested, i.e. the faculty who will be teaching, their credentials, so to ensure the students are being taught in the right form and manner.
All the best.

Hi Rutuja, Yes, of course, XIC offers campus placements. Placement scenario is good for Advertising, Public Relations and Journalism courses. My batch (2012-13), also got a chance to do internship with leading agencies (PR), however, the scenario was different for the batch previous to it. XIC's course for PR and Corp Comm is by far the best and most recognised in the industry. The average package could vary between 18k - 40K upwards depending on previous relevant experience as well. The lecturers at XIC are all experts from the communications and marketing field and hence the curriculum and teaching methods are without doubt the best

Hi Shubhangi,
I am assuming you meant Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. If that is so, let me tell you that admissions to courses in journalism and mass media at DCAC are purely based on the percentage of 12th. The best of four subjects is calculated (one language subject being mandatory) and then, it is based on the cut-off list.
All the best.

Hi Ananya, Yes, you can. I always advise people to take up Mass Communication at the Post Graduate level rather than at the UG level. B.A. English Honors + a PG Degree is Mass Communication is a very good choice as it opens up a lot of career opportunities later on. Note: Also all PG Courses in Mass Communication teach you the subjects from the very basic level. So, it does't really matter if you have a UG Degree in Mass Comm. All the best.

Hi Rajesh,
If you don't want to pursue a degree or Diploma course in event management, it is completely okay. It is not necessary to have a degree to pursue a career in event management or wedding planning. You can rather have industry exposure by applying for internship with an event management or a wedding planning firm. You will have to do some research about such firms in your locality and request them for an internship. Nothing can teach you better than industry exposure.
