If you are creative, have good communication, management and marketing skills, and wish to make a career in events, you should definitely pursue BBA in event management. The admission criteria generally includes a written test to judge your aptitude for the course and a personal interview to assess your personality traits.

Hi Vaishali!
To become a Journalist, You should pursue BA in Journalism or Mass Communication (BJMC/ BMM) . Pursuing B.Sc in Mass Communication will also make you a well qualified professional as B.Sc gives you a leverage to work in a research and education institute. You can even become a teacher at a Mass Communication college with B.Sc degree.
If you want to pursue the course within Kanpur city itself, then yes JIMMS is a good option. Else, there are other great colleges across India that offer mass communication at UG level https://www.shiksha.com/mass-communication-media/articles/top-10-mass-communication-colleges-in-india-blogId-1

The Question carries a complex comparison where the Two Streams are on a balance foot when compared.
BBA is a UG in Business Administration and takes one to Management Domain. Where as, a degree in Mass Comm- at the Graduation Level takes one to Media Understanding as well as exposure but also creates Job Prospects, a little bit higher than BBA. BBA done in a General way and without earning or doing Specialisation will not be fruitful unless one goes for an MBA.
On the Other hand, BJMC is a good foundation to get into Media and Mass Comm career.
The choice also depends on the Choice of Career.
