Journalism and Mass Communication is a subject of Social Sciences, in which Maths is not a requirement. However, at the advanced level, statistics may be a part. But, maths is not needed to take admissions.

Doing a crash course can be called beneficial only when you know things about the domain. If you are totally unaware of things and not active in mass media management type of areas, better get a degree. For your age, as you said the option of doing Bachelor's degree is there, better to take a degree which also offers you the required exposure.

Hi,
In order to be a game developer, you should pursue B.Sc in IT as BMM stands for Bachelor of mass media which has no relation with game design and development.
