Admission in Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media is based on the students last education score. Students must have passed class 12th with passing marks in all the subjects. Students are given admissions on candidate's undergraduate score, IIJNM entrance test and personal round of interview. Test is of 100 marks and scoring above 70 is good and rest depends on score in interview test.
- Undergraduate marks : To increases you chance of admission a strong score we can say ideally above 60%.
- IIJNM Entrance Test (IIJET) : This test is basically to check candidate aptitude for journalism and media studies

The selection process of the Institute is based on candidates' scores in IIJNM Aptitude test with no age limit.
