To pursue a Master of Data Science course at RMIT University, students must have:

• An Australian bachelor’s degree in Computing, Science, Engineering, Health or Statistics with a good GPA of minimum 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent OR

• Students can also be considered if they have an Australian bachelor’s degree with a GPA of minimum 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent and
• Relevant completed courses in Programming and Statistics in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or a minimum three years’ of current, relevant work experience or professional practice as a Statistician, Programmer or equivalent

Apart from the above-given academic requirements, international students are required to submit English language proficiency test scores. They can submit the scores of IELTS  (6.5 overall) / TOEFL  (79 overall) / PTE Academic  (58) / Cambridge English (Minimum of 176 with no less than 169 in any component).

The main difference between MSc and PG Diploma is the duration and the level of the course. MSc is a two-year postgraduate degree, while PG Diploma is a one-year advanced level short-term academic qualification.

MSc is a more specialised and research-oriented degree that provides advanced knowledge and skills in a specific field, while PG Diploma is more practical and focuses on providing hands-on experience in a particular field.

Additionally, MSc is usually awarded by universities/colleges after a course ends which meets the academic requirements of an institution, whereas PG Diploma is an advanced level short-term academic qualification that is typically one year long.
