It is compulsory for the NMIMS MBA students to spend 6-8 weeks on a summer project between the first and the second year of the NMIMS MBA. A viva is conducted at the end of the internship by the faculty mentor. It is mandatory to clear the viva for progressing to the second year.

The candidates who have given more than one preference for MBA programme or NMIMS campus in their application forms are selected based on their merit score and availability of the seats in the respective program.

The NMAT score is given a weightage of 10% in the preparation of the merit list. The competency assessment test is given the highest weightage at 60%. The scores of the Work Experience and Personal Interview are given a weightage of 15% each for the selection of the candidate in the final merit list.

Internships, trainings apprenticeships are not considered as valid work experience for consideration in MBA admission at NMIMS. Work experience of the candidate of more than one year in a company that is listed in both the GSTIN and TAN databases is considered valid. The work experience only after completion of graduation is given weightage in the final merit list.

The official website of NMIMS does not explicitly state any reservation policy for Kashmiri Migrants. The latest admission handout does not mention any quota for Kashmiri Migrants.

NMIMS does not reserve any seats for ST/SC students in its MBA program. NMIMS is a private deemed-to-be-university. Its admission process for MBA programs is not governed by the standard reservation policy that is followed in government universities.

The MBA (general/core) has the highest seat allocation among all MBA programs at SBM NMIMS. The number of seats allocated to this programme is 600. MBA HR and MBA Business Analytics are allocated 120 seats each at SBM NMIMS.

At the time of admission to NMIMS MBA, the scanned copies only of the following documents are required: Class 10 Marksheet or Pass Certificate, Class 12 Marksheet or Pass Certificate, Degree Certificate, Degree Marksheet, Migration Certificate, Mediclaim policy and Medical Fitness Certificate (In Original signed & stamp by Registered Medical Practitioner). Note: If separate Degree mark sheets are not issued by the University / Institute, the consolidated mark sheets be accepted. Else the marksheet for each semester/trimester of the degree need to be submitted.

According to the placement report published by NMIMS on its official website, MBA (general/core) yielded the best ROI at 1 year. The second best was for NMIMS MBA Business Analytics at 1.3 years.

According to NMIMS placement report 2023-2024, more than 70 companies offered campus placements to students of MBA Digital Transformation. Out of these, 20 companies were Fortune 500 companies. The average package that was offered to the students of MBA Digital Transformation was INR 15.9 LPA. The highest package that was offered was INR 26.13 LPA.
