As per an official document, the upper age limit for applying to an MBA course is 40 years as of July 1 of the year of admission. ANGRAU provides a limit of seats for the MBA program. In total 133 seats are available in the university's affiliated colleges. So, in a single academic year, only 133 students can take admission. Besides, students need to submit their applications and register in time so as not to lose the opportunity of the application process. A candidate with good AIEEA scores may also be in a better position to secure admission.

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology has identified the necessity of aiding the less fortunate by giving them a concession in the qualifying criteria. The minimum eligibility condition for a general category student has been fixed at 60% of the aggregate of the bachelor's degree.
Whereas for the students of the SC/ST/EWS category, the university extends a 5% relaxation in the minimum marking requirement. Therefore the students of the above-mentioned categories can apply if they have attained an aggregate of at least 55% of the marks in the bachelor's degree.
