While an MBA course tends to be more theoretical, a PGDM focuses on the technical aspects, providing exposure to real-life business situations. Also, a PGDM isvery different than a one year PGP offered by many private institutes all across India.

Hello! A PGDM is a Diploma, but a respected one since many top-ranked B-schools such as MDI, SP Jain, all Iims, XLRI, etc. Today still give a PGDM. It is considered to be equal to an MBA.
