Whether pursuing an MBBS in India is worth it is subjective but it is a highly secure, prestigious and also a stable career. But it also demans a massive cost in terms of time, mental and even physical energy.
To answer your question, yes MBBS is definitely worth pursuing in India because -
- There is almost 100% job security. You will always have work.
- Doctors in India are still highly respected.
- It is a lifelong profession with no strict retirement age.
- While initial earnings are low with specialisation (PG) and experience doctors can earn very well.

Neither course is strictly better as both lead to rewarding careers but they cater to different interests. MBBS is for treating general illnesses/surgeries across whole body and BDS focuses solely on oral health and dental surgery.
Candidates should choose MBBS if they want a wider career in general medicine, enjoy working in hospitals and also don't mind long working hours and high stress. Or they can choose BDS if they prefer a focused field, desire a better work life balance (fewer emergencies), want to own a clinic sooner and also prefer focused or detailed work.

Graduates can go for jobs like doctors, pursue PG specializations, enter healthcare management or even work in research. While Indian degrees are reputable foreign degrees often sometimes lower tuition fees and in some countries superior research facilities too.

MBBS is a UG course which is taken by candidates who want to be a doctor in allopathic medicine. It is a 5.5 year course (4.5 years of study + 1 year internship) which teaches students how to check illnesses, treat patients and also perform surgeries.

AIIMS Hyderabad cutoff was announced for all rounds and various categories belonging to the All India quota. For the General AI category, the last round cutoff was 1874. Students can see the table below to know the AIIMS Hyderabad MBBS cutoff 2025 for all other All India categories.

AIIMS Raipur MBBS cutoff 2025 was released for admission to various categories under the All India quota. Students can refer to the table below to know the first and last round ranks for all AI categories.

If you belong to the General, OBC or EWS AI category, you would need to secure a rank of at least 634, 1142 and 1582, respectively, to avail admission at this institute.
However, if you belong to the SC AI category, a rank of 2000 can get you a seat at AIIMS Bhopal. This category had a more relaxed cutoff rank of 7030. The ST and PWD cutoff ranks were even more accommodating, at 10480 and 116405, respectively.

AIIMS Bhopal NEET UG cutoff 2025 was concluded with the release of the final rounds of results for the MBBS course. The cutoff was released for various categories under the All India quota.
For the General AI category, the overall cutoff varied from 531 to 634, according to the first and last round. Admissions for the year 2025 were closed after NEET UG counselling results for round 2. Please keep in mind that other categories, rounds, etc., will have different cutoffs.
