If you've failed 4 out of 5 subjects in your first year, it can be challenging to clear supplementary exams and progress to the second year. Generally, universities require students to pass a minimum number of subjects to move on. You would need to pass the supplementary exams to meet the promotion criteria. However, rules vary by institution, so it's essential to check with your college or university about their specific policies on supplementary exams and reattempts.
