Yes, you can study law without MH CET Law, but only if you apply to private or deemed universities that have their own entrance exams or direct admission process. MH CET Law is mainly for government and aided law colleges in Maharashtra. Other universities may accept scores from exams like CLAT or conduct their own tests for LLB admission.

Some of the best books for MH CET Law 3-year and 5-year preparation are Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by A.P. Bhardwaj, MH-CET: Law for LLB by Adv. Rewati Mohite and Gajanan Shewalkar, and A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning by R.S. Aggarwal. You should also study from Lucent's General Knowledge and solve previous year CLAT papers for extra practice.

If you want to apply for the 5-year LLB course, you must pass class 12 or an equal exam from any recognised board or university. For the 3-year LLB course, you should have finished your graduation from a recognised university. These are the basic MH CET Law eligibility rules for both courses.

No, Maharashtra State CET Cell has not moved the MHCET Law 2026 to a two-attempt system. Although it is expected that the MH CET Law 2026 might be held twice in a year to match the national-level exam standards.

Yes, you can apply for the MH CET Law exam even if you don't have a CLAT score. MH CET Law is its own state-level test for getting admission into law colleges in Maharashtra for both 3-year and 5-year LLB courses. It doesn't depend on CLAT at all. You just need to pass 10+2 with 45% marks, and for SC/ST, it's 40%.
