It is quite difficult to obtain clear statistics that can tell the exact marks to get admission into MNIT. It matters on how you score in board exams as well. However, I am sharing a few previous stats:
139 marks in JEE Main and 97% in CBSE - Mechanical Engineering - OBC
120 marks in JEE Main and 85% in CBSE - Electrical Engineering - OBC
98 marks in JEE Main and 80% in Rajasthan Board - Metallurgical & Materials Engineering - OBC
I hope this helps. All the best.

Electrical Engineering branch is easily gettable for a person with decent marks in JEE. For admission to top NITs and other few central colleges via JEE Main, you should get 200+ marks and above 90% in CBSE board exams ko get EE branch for a general candidate. For reserved category, to get admitted into MNIT in EE branch, you must score 120+ marks and 85% and above.

I would definitely say that branch is all that matters as in the long run from where you did your engineering fades away what remains is that how good you are in your field hence I would suggest always take branch of your interest and future scope even if you have to compromise with the NIT.

Seems tough. Jee marks will drag you back. Nevertheless hope for a positive result.

I am sorry to disappoint you my friend but with the above mentioned score you may not get any decent government college but you can definitely get some other good private colleges like VIT, BITS, SRM etc for which you may apply. Also the placement in these colleges is quite good as almost all major recruiting companies of different branches visit these colleges.

Hello Sohrab. To get admission in MNIT you need to appear in JEE Mains exam & get good rank. Rank is decided by the combination of Jee mains marks & marks obtained in 10+2 exam or any equivalent exam given in the list by CBSE. You can ask me for further clarifications.

Hello there,
My college, I.e. MNIT Jaipur is indeed a very good college to do your B.Tech as it is not only ranked among the top NITs but is also good in placements record. Last year, I.e.in 2014-2015 we had a track record of 100% placement for Mechanical, Computer Science and about 80-90% in other branches. The companies which visit our campus include top tech giants like Microsoft, Oracle etc.
